Mika Immonen snaps off the Qatar 9-Ball Open Undefeated!

World-class professional pool player Mika Immonen continues to prove he is a dominant force in the pool world. Immonen, a native of Finland who now resides in NYC, is a former World Champion, and holds titles in both the US Open and Japan Open as well as many other regional and international titles, and has just been crowned at another huge event, the Qatar International 9-Ball Championships, adding another remarkable notch in his belt.
There will certianly be more press around Tiger Wood’s recent win at the AT&T National Championships and Roger Federer’s Historic record breaking win at Wimbledon, but Mika’s win is also certainly worth talking about.
Since the reality is that billiards is not given the same level of exposure that other mainstream sports enjoy, Mika has to stay on the grind. Recently, Mika Immonen and Japanese pool cue maker, Mezz Cues made news by announcing the sponsorship of their first major pro pool event: The Mezz Classic. Mika has recently teamed up with NY Women’s Pro, Caroline Pao to spearhead Mezz Cues USA, which will be the cue company’s USA presence with is based out of NY.
Mika has mentioned that he is completely engaged in life and lives with passion, doing what he loves. While Mika Immonen is known for being an intense competitor, he also enjoys entertaining and educating his fans. ”The Iceman” shared his enthusiasm and knowledge of the game in his recent cutting-edge pool instructional video called “Mastering Pool.”
Outside of being a super-strong tournament player Mika also enjoys exhibitions and challenge matches, and has built a very strong fan following. You can read more about “The Iceman” in our player profile.

Mika had nothing but praise for the way the event was run, down to its slick timetable and the great playing facilities .
“The Iceman,” who spends so much time in New York, that we forget that he is playing for Finland, and that it was not a win for New York.
Well done, Mika from all your fans in the New York area.
