Shaun Wilkie Takes the Comeback Route to Victory on the Mezz Tour at Drexeline

The Mezz Pro-Am Tour made its way to Drexeline Billiards on Sunday, July 31, 2011. A strong field of 45 players came out to play players, including Jose Parica, Shaun Wilkie, Matt Krah, Josh Brothers, Eddie Abraham, Al Waldo, Joe Hong, Brett Stottlemyer, and Max Much to name a few.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Shaun Wilkie with wins over Adbellatif Chamseddine 7-2, Brett Stottlemyer 7-5, Dave Grau 7-1 and Bill McCoy 7-2. Leading the bottom half of the bracket was Matt Krah with wins over Shawn Toni 7-4, Ralph Lake 7-1, Josh Brothers 7-3 and Jose Parica7-4.
Playing for the hot seat, Matt Krah took on Shaun Wilkie. This was a good match, but when it was all said and done, it was Krah who took the set at 7-4 to lock his spot in the finals, sending Wilkie to the one-loss side.
Waiting for Shaun Wilkie on the one-loss side was “The Leader of the Filipino Invasion” Jose Parica. This would turn out to be a one-sided match, where Wilkie took control from the start and never looked back, winning easily at 6-0 to get to the finals.
In the finals it was Shaun Wilkie Vs Matt Krah, Wilkie has to beat Krah twice in order to win the event. First set was all Wilkie with a 7-3 win in the second set it once again it was Shaun Wilkie taking control of the match from the start winning the set 6-1 and the event.
